Acquired by IBM |

Liberty Insurance Services, which has provided policy administration
and customer service support for Assurant Preneed for more
than six years, was acquired by IBM, effective Jan. 1, 2005.
With the acquisition, IBM signed a long-term lease for the buildings occupied by LIS and announced their intent to retain the 700+ LIS employees. The change of ownership does not affect the terms of our agreement with LIS, or the processes and people who interact with our customers. We are excited for the opportunities this change brings to our partners at LIS. Longer term, the added depth and resources of IBM should provide increased access to technology and additional service enhancements for LIS clients.
